Culture, care and generosity in support of Kids Research.
In February, local and international guests gathered at the InterContinental Sydney for a Lunar New Year Charity Event that was both refined and deeply meaningful. In collaboration with Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, BLE was proud to design and deliver an evening that raised an extraordinary $2.15 million in support of Kids Research – the research arm of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.
This was not simply a gala. It was a meticulously choreographed experience – layered in symbolism, elevated by design, and crafted to take guests on a journey of reflection, connection, and impact. Every element of the night was considered and intentional: from the subtle interplay of light and colour, to the carefully selected textures, motifs, and motion woven through the space.
The event design drew inspiration from traditional elements of Lunar New Year, reinterpreted with contemporary elegance. Intricate floral installations and rich material palettes created an atmosphere of layered storytelling. Bespoke cultural performances and carefully timed surprise moments added theatricality and wonder, while the programming was emotionally mapped to take guests from awe to empathy to action.
Moving stories grounded the event, creating space for genuine connection. And as pledges filled the room, the true impact of the evening came into focus.
